Oil leak from valve cover – gasket or something else?

Noticed some oil seeping down the side of the engine on my 2015 Octavia 1.6 TDI. Looks like it's coming from the valve cover area, small puddle after parking overnight. Cleaned it up and it's slow but steady. Probably just the gasket? How hard is it to replace yourself?

Valve cover gasket leaks are super common on these engines after 100k+ km- rubber hardens, cracks, or the cover warps slightly from heat cycles. If it's not the camshaft seal or PCV issue, swapping the gasket usually fixes it. I did mine last summer; not too bad DIY with basic tools- just remove coils/plugs, unbolt cover carefully, clean mating surfaces thoroughly (no old gasket bits left), apply thin sealant if needed, torque in sequence. Got a quality gasket set from https://elartcom.eu/categories/engine-gaskets-and-seals-90 - they have complete valve cover kits for VW/Skoda including grommets and sometimes spark plug tube seals. Fit perfectly, no leaks after 10k km now, even on longer motorway runs. Much cheaper than garage quote and stops that annoying drip. Check their category for your exact engine code- lots of specific sets to avoid mismatches.
